Collection consists of three-dimensional artifacts that were gifts to the City of Dallas or items having City of Dallas historical significance or permanent value.

The most significant item in the collection is a paving brick made of bois d'arc wood. It was laid in Market Street in approximately 1890. Before the development of brick and asphalt paving for Dallas streets in the late nineteenth century, the city experimented with wooden paving blocks made of bois d' arc wood, derived from the Osage orange tree, and creosote-treated pine. Other items of note include a recording commemorating the 50th anniversary of city-owned radio station WRR and unused "keys to the city" from the administration of former Mayor Wes Wise (1971-1976).
